CNDH Chairperson meets with the family of Mr. Houcine El Manouzi at the CNDH headquarters
Mrs. Amina Bouayach, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), met on Thursday 3 November 2022, with the brothers of Mr. Houcine El Manouzi, who commemorated this year the fiftieth anniversary of his kidnapping from Tunisia on 29 October 1972 and his detention in irregular detention in Rabat.
On this occasion, Mrs. Bouayach reviewed the efforts of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) and the Follow-up Committee for the implementation of the IER recommendations to reveal the fate of Houcine El Manouzi. She also affirmed the IER conviction and the Follow-up Committee on his death after escaping detention and being re-arrested with seven other detainees on 13 July 1975.
With regard to finding the place of his burial, Mrs. Bouayach affirmed the CNDH’s readiness to continue its efforts to investigate and research this issue.
