Health Emergency: Interventions of the CRDH of Fez-Meknes and CRDH of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab as part of their monitoring and follow up missions at the regional level
As part of their monitoring and protection missions in light of the health emergency, the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and its 12 Regional Human Rights Commissions (CRDHs) continue their missions related to following up and monitoring human rights situation.
In coordination with the relevant authorities and civil society, the CNDH and its CRDHs are following up and monitoring the repercussions of the pandemic (COVID-19) especially on vulnerable groups, in accordance with national legislation and relevant international standards.
In this context, the CRDH of Dakhla- Oued Eddahab initiated contacts with several local actors to follow up actions taken regarding some vulnerable groups, especially widowed women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and migrants.
After conducting monitoring actions, the CRDH contacted public authorities, who were quick to provide aid to 322 beneficiaries, who are unable to provide basic needs under quarantine.
In coordination with the representative of the NGO Caritas, the CRDH of Fez-Meknes followed up the situation of 36 sub-Saharan migrants who have been homeless for nearly 6 months.
In this context, the CRDH contacted local authorities to take necessary measures to protect them from the pandemic spread, and to provide them decent living conditions.
Immediately after that, local authorities have provided shelter for those migrants, enabled them to check up, medical follow-up, and internet to contact their families starting from Monday 30 March 2020.
