Marrakech-Safi Region: Study Day on the Effectiveness of the Right to Health
The Regional Human Rights Commission in the Marrakech-Safi region (CRDH), in partnership with the Bar Association in Marrakech, will organize a Study Day on "The Effectiveness of the Right to Health", on Friday 27 January 2023, at the Lawyers' Club in Targa, Marrakech.
This Study Day is organized within the framework of the implementation of the strategy of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) based on the effectiveness of rights. It is also part of the partnership agreement signed in May 2021 between the CRDH and the Bar Association in Marrakech.
It aims to share insights on issues related to the right to health by identifying the intersections and the elements of mutual influence on health issues and the legal, economic and social determinants related to the effectiveness of access to this right.
Institutional and civil actors (Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the judiciary, the Bar Association... ) will participate in this event.
The CNDH 2022 published its thematic report on "The effectiveness of the Right to Health: Challenges and Ways to its Strengthening", through which it sought to share a vision of the obstacles to citizens' access to their rights related to health and to suggest approaches to addressing them. This report is based on the legal texts that guarantee the right to health and reviews the impediments associated with the implicit determinants of this right, mainly the economic, social, cultural and environmental barriers.
